Takayama – 高山村

I spent 10 days working and learning at Kimidori Farm & Kitchen. It is located in Takayama village near Numata city in Gunma prefecture. This young family is famous in Japan for starting one of the first farms to introduce beetroot to Japanese market. In fact, Japan is in the midst of beetroot craze! Their range of beetroot products include: red cake mix, rhubarb & beetroot jam, beverages, red food colouring, fresh beetroots, among others. They have a special section at the local farming with many newspaper clippings and publication educating the public on all beetroot topics. At the time, they were planning a beetroot Borscht party for the village, and so it happened that I have Russian roots and can do graphic design. Yes, I completed my first poster in Japanese language!
